FARMINGTON – An Industry man escaped an early morning crash Monday with minor injuries, said police officer Edward Hastings.

Reginald Haines, 38, was traveling east toward Farmington before 7 a.m. when he lost control of his 2000 Chevy pickup on a corner. The vehicle slid off the road through a thicket of bushes before striking a pine tree.

The accident happened near the bog on Industry Road, close to the Farmington town line. Excessive speed was a factor in the accident, he said. Haines was wearing a seat belt, Hastings added.

Haines was taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital by NorthStar ambulance. He was treated and released, according to a hospital representative.

He was alone in the vehicle and no other vehicles were involved.

The truck was totaled and towed from the scene.

Farmington Fire and Rescue responded to help with traffic control and clean up, Hastings said.
