Sunday service
PARIS – Trinity Lutheran Church, 34 Buckfield Road, Paris, will celebrate the 10th Sunday after Pentecost at the 9 a.m. Sunday, July 20, worship service, followed by coffee, refreshments and fellowship. Bible study will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 23.

Society program
OXFORD – The Oxford Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Friday, July 25, at the Kay House Museum, Pleasant Street. The program will be “What-Is-It-Night.”
Everyone is encouraged to bring an item to show, along with a story or two. The evening will begin with a short business meeting followed by the program, then refreshments.
Garage sale
OXFORD – The Oxford Fire Relief Organization will hold its annual public garage sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at the Oxford Public Safety Building, Route 26. Money raised will help fund equipment for the Oxford Fire Department.
There will be crafts, food and treasures. Donations of food will be accepted for the food table. If interested, bring it to the firehouse Friday evening or Saturday morning.
Pies for sale
PARIS – A pie sale will be held beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 19, at Paris Hill during Founder’s Day. It will be held by the women of the Deering Memorial United Methodist Church.
Rocky reading
WEST PARIS – Rocks, minerals, gems and mining will be the focus of the West Paris Library children’s summer reading program from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 23.
Jim Clanin, Hebron geologist and mining engineer, will be the presenter. He has traveled to places like Afghanistan and Africa to pursue his career. He has brought some of the thrill of his profession to residents and visitors of the Oxford Hills at Western Maine Mineral Adventures on Route 26N beside the Mollyockett Motel.
He and his partners in the Dig Gems business give folks an opportunity to find Maine tourmaline, quartz and garnets as they screen mine tailings.

Antique show
LOVELL – As part of the Lovell Old Home Days weekend on Sunday, July 20, more than 25 dealers will display their antiques, inside the barn and under tents in the field adjacent to the Kimball-Stanford House, Route 5. Grilled food, beverages and dessert items will be offered for sale by the society.
There will be a raffle with three items to win. Early admission is from 7 to 8:30 a.m. for $5 or regular admission is from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for $3.
