FARMINGTON – Diamond is a beautiful black cat that has grown up at the Franklin County Animal Shelter. When she first arrived she was just a tiny kitten and most of her first experiences of life have been at the shelter.
Because of this, she is a little shy at first, and she needs a little time before she will rub up against a person and will bombard them with affection. She hasn’t even felt carpet between her paws. Because she has been at the shelter for a long time, her adoption fee is waived so she is free to a great home.
Staff asks that anyone who drops off litters of kittens that are 2 weeks old do it during business hours and talk to a staff member. If they are left overnight or in the early morning, staff may not find them until it is too late. That request applies to other animals as well.
New dogs at the shelter include a female lab/sheperd mix found in Temple, neutered male brindle pit mix found in Wilton and female beagle mix named Shelby found in West Farmington.
