LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Senior College at USM/LA elected three new members to the board of directors at the annual membership meeting at L-A College on May 13.
The additions to the board are Mora LePage, Claudette Martel and Anita Therrien. Hugh Keene was named to the position of chairman, replacing Rose Goodwin.
The Senior College program began at USM/LA in 2000 with an initial offering of four courses and has since conducted two semesters annually in spring and fall.
Most recently, the 2008 spring semester provided 14 courses for the expanding number of enrollees.
In addition to the two semesters each year, a monthly luncheon series, “Food for Thought,” brings a schedule of presentations by area professionals, board members, community leaders and senior citizens who share their unusual life experiences.
The Senior College programs for adult learners age 50 and over provide peer-taught courses, workshops and other activities. The next semester will begin Sept. 22. For additional information about Senior College, call 753-6610.
