LEWISTON – Barbara Welch, a resident of Montello Heights, celebrated her 100th birthday on June 15 with family and friends. A party was given in her honor.

Welch has resided at Montello Heights for the past 12 years, since its grand opening in June of 1996.

Welch taught school in Poland and Mechanic Falls, worked 30 years as a bank employee in Mechanic Falls and three years in the Androscoggin County Probation Office.

She enjoys reading and crossword puzzles.
