Criminal Mischief
A vehicle parked at 34 Union St. was keyed sometime overnight July 20-21.
A camper parked at 42 Bridge St. had a hole in its roof from a bullet sometime in the past two weeks. It appears as though the bullet had been fired straight into the air and landed on the roof.
A vehicle parked at 84 College St. had a tire slashed overnight July 16-17.
A vehicle parked at 85 Lafayette Park was keyed overnight July 20-21.
Officers responded to Cumberland Farms on Main Street on July 17 at 10:15 p.m. for a report that a pedestrian had been shot in the back of the head by a paint ball gun as well a vehicle which was near Main and Holland streets. Witnesses described the suspect vehicle as a red VW – ME REG 6708PS.
Numerous residences on Rideout Avenue had mail taken out of their mailboxes and shredded prior to 4 p.m. on July 21. A juvenile female was later identified as the suspect in the incident and offered a confession.
A vehicle parked at 50 Cassell St. had its rear windshield smashed out overnight July 22-23.
A vehicle parked at Pleasant View Acres had its windshield broken out and the roof dented on July 22 at 9:30 p.m.
A business window at the Rite Aid was cracked by a customer who kicked it sometime prior to 6:40 p.m. on July 19.
Two vehicles parked at 94 Knox St. had their windshields smashed out sometime overnight July 21-22.
A vehicle parked at 25 Knox St. had its windshield cracked sometime overnight July 16-17.
A vehicle parked at the Centerville Garage had lug nuts removed from a tire and a hub cap stolen sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. on July 21.
The garage gate at the Chestnut Street garage was damaged sometime over the weekend July 18-21.
Thefts
A hanging plant was stolen from 14 Champlain Ave. overnight July 20-21.
Two large aluminum covers were stolen from a water system located at 65 Crowley Road sometime overnight July 18-19.
A large metal Knights of Columbus emblem was stolen from the front yard of 188 Scribner Blvd. overnight July 20-21.
A large roll of roofing material was stolen from Industrial Roofing at 9 Ferry Road on July 19 at 9:47 p.m. by two males in a silver or gray pickup truck.
A green and gray freestyle bike was stolen from outside of the Lewiston Mall on July 22 at around 1:30 p.m.
A bicycle was stolen from the bike rack at Lewiston High School on July 22 prior to 1 p.m.
A purse which had been left in a parking lot at 243 Bartlett St. was stolen on July 21 between 9 and 10 p.m.
MV Burglaries
A vehicle parked in a garage at 4 Halstead Terrace was burglarized overnight July 17-18. Spare change was taken from the center console.
A vehicle parked at 35 Wood St. was burglarized overnight July 16-17. Entry was gained by popping the lock with a coat hanger; a Blackberry cell phone was stolen from inside.
Four vehicles parked at the Colisee were burglarized on July 22 prior to 8 p.m. during a soccer game.
A vehicle parked in the Chestnut Street garage was burglarized prior to 1 a.m. on July 22. Entry was gained by cutting through the soft top of the vehicle; the vehicle was rummaged through.
Ashley Aube, 20, was charged with motor vehicle burglary on July 23 at 1:50 a.m. after she was field interviewed by an officer who discovered a car stereo faceplate in her pocket. Later that evening, a report was received from a resident 471 Main St. to which the item belonged.
Burglaries
An apartment at 370 College St. had a window screen damaged overnight July 17-18 during an attempted burglary.
A residence at 361 College St. was burglarized July 17-18. Entry was gained by prying a window screen; $40 in cash and a roll of toilet paper were stolen.
A residence at 7 Manning Place was burglarized overnight July 17-18. Entry was gained through a sliding glass door. Cash and Lowe’s gift cards were taken from a purse. Detectives were able to obtain surveillance video of the suspect using the gift cards the following day. They were then able to identify the suspect as Joseph Carter, 40, of Lewiston. Carter has been charged with burglary and theft from this incident.
Indecent Conduct
On July 22 at 5 p.m. police responded to the Centerville Parking Garage for a report of a black male wearing a bandana around his head masturbating in the fourth floor stairwell. The suspect was gone prior to police arriving.
