KENNEBUNKPORT (AP) – President Bush plans to arrive in Maine on Thursday for a three-day visit to his parents’ seaside home in Kennebunkport.

The White House announced the visit at a press briefing Friday and said no public events were planned during Bush’s stay at Walker’s Point.

It will be Bush’s first return to former president George Bush and his wife Barbara’s summer home in about a year. During separate visits last summer, the president played host to Russian President Vladimir Putin and French President Nicolas Sarkozy.

During his vacations in Maine, Bush engages in various recreational pursuits, including golf, fishing and mountain biking. His presence routinely draws protesters to the tourist town.
