AUBURN – Dan and Lorraine O’Neil of Auburn celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 21. Family and friends gathered at Gippers’ in Auburn to honor them.

The surprise party was planned by their three children, Erin, Kelly and Dan. About 70 family members and friends attended.

A granddaughter, Kitara Ducas, passed out the anniversary cake and had charge of the guest book.

Mr. O’Neil grew up in Lewiston and served in the U.S. Army. He was employed at Maine Oxy until he retired.

Mrs. O’Neil grew up in Auburn and was a hairdresser and stayed at home to raise their children.

They married in 1958 and settled in Auburn to raise their three children. They have had the opportunity to travel and have gone to Hawaii, the Canary Islands, and also cruised to the Caribbean Islands and Mexico.

In addition to their children, their grandchildren are Heather, Donovan and Kitara, and they also have a great-grandchild, Noah, with another one, Desirae, due any time.

They spent many years enjoying motorcycle trips on their Honda Goldwing. They also enjoy going to the Fryeburg Fair and getting together with family and friends.
