There is very little in the news lately that gives people much joy, especially reading about the hardships many are enduring without help.

However, my family recently experienced a traumatic event made easier by so many kind and caring people – too many to be named individually.

A staff person from a local health care organization was especially helpful, going way beyond the call of duty. Officers from the local police department and personnel from a local television station were also of great assistance and deserve praise and thanks for their expertise and sympathy.

We read about so many bad incidents, we must remember that there are many good, special people in this world, and that they outnumber the bad.

My sincere thanks and appreciation to all those special individuals. They have restored my faith in human nature.
