Meaghan Mingo of Gray made the dean’s list for the spring semester at Emmanuel College in Boston. Students earning a grade point average of 3.5 or higher are awarded the distinction of Dean’s List.
Shawn David Thibodeau
Shawn David Thibodeau of Greene has been named to the dean’s list for the May session at University of Northwestern Ohio’s College of Technologies in Lima, Ohio. Students on the dean’s list earned a grade point average of 3.5 or better.
Patrick Allen Waterman
Patrick Allen Waterman has completed his freshman year at University of Rochester, N.Y., and was on the dean’s list all year.
He will return to the university in the fall to continue his studies in either economics or math. While attending school, he played intramural basketball and will be an assistant to the RA in the freshman dorm this coming year, supervising and planning activities for the incoming classes.
Waterman is a graduate of Greely High School in 2007 and is an Eagle Scout from Troop 58 in Cumberland, completing a trail building project at Bradford Mountain State Park. He is the son of former Sabattus residents Thomas and Julie Waterman and the grandson of Donald and Evelyn Waterman of Sabattus.
Michael Donald Waterman
Michael Donald Waterman graduated from Eckerd College, St. Petersburg, Fla., in May with a BS degree in chemistry. While at Eckerd, he was active in advanced synthetic chemistry research, spent time on a community service project at the Reptile Educational Center, and played intramural soccer, wake boarding and flag football.
Michael is a 2004 graduate of Greely High School and is an Eagle Scout from Troop 58 in Cumberland, completing a bridge project in the North Yarmouth Recreation Park. He is the son of former Sabattus residents Thomas and Julie Waterman and grandson of Donald and Evelyn Waterman of Sabattus.
Ashley Appleton
Ashley Appleton, daughter of Kim and Glenn Appleton of Hampton, N.H., and granddaughter of Jacqueline and Philippe Turgeon of Lewiston, graduated magna cum laude from Johnson and Wales University in Providence, R.I.
She received her bachelor of science in culinary arts. She is also a life time member of the Golden Quill Honor Society. She is employed as chef on a live-aboard dive boat out of Kono, Hawaii.
Amanda R. Burgess
Amanda R. Burgess, a junior at Colby College in Waterville, was named to the dean’s list for her outstanding academic achievement during the spring semester. Burgess, daughter of Arthur and Gail Burgess of Auburn, is a religious studies and government major. She attended Edward Little High School.
Students whose grade point averages are in the top 30 percent are named to the dean’s list.
Abby Wilkins
Abby Wilkins, daughter of Mary and James Wilkins of Auburn, was named a First Group Scholar and was named to the dean’s list at Smith College in Northampton, Mass., for the school year.
The dean’s list recognizes those students with grade point averages of 3.333 or above. First Group Scholars are further recognized for their particularly high level of achievement, and they generally represent the top 10 percent of the class.
Wilkins graduated from Edward Little and is majoring in communication disorders at Smith.
Christopher P. Cote
Christopher P. Cote of Auburn earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration with an emphasis in marketing as Susquehanna University closed its 150th academic year with annual commencement exercises on May 11 in Selinsgrove, Pa. Cote is the son of Paul and Pauline Cote and a 2004 graduate of Edward Little High School.
Cote’s activities at Susquehanna included rugby, which he played for two seasons. He also received the Business Awareness Outstanding Group Achievement Award in fall 2004. Cote plans to pursue a career in marketing.
Keith Robert Hopkins
Keith Robert Hopkins of Lewiston, sophomore majoring in accountancy, and Sean Patrick Valiente of Lewiston, a sophomore undecided business, have been named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Bentley College in Waltham, Mass.
To be named to the dean’s list, a full-time student must have a grade point average of 3.3 or higher with no course grade below 2.0 during the term.
Christopher S. Coulombe, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roland Coulombe of Naples, has been named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at the University of New England in Biddeford. Coulombe has a grade point average of 3.5. He’s the grandson of Mrs. Cecil Coulombe of Lewiston and of Mrs. Doris Biron of Auburn.
Cassandra Jensen
Cassandra Jensen, daughter of Hilmar Jensen and Phyllis Graber Jensen of Lewiston, was named to the dean’s list at Smith College, Northampton, Mass., for her academic achievement for the 2007-08 school year. The dean’s list recognizes those students with grade point averages of 3.333 or above. Jensen graduated from Lewiston High School and is majoring in English and film studies at Smith.
Calla Jewett
Calla Jewett of Leeds was named to the Castleton State College dean’s list for the spring semester. To qualify, the student must maintain full-time status and a semester grade point average of 3.5. Jewett is an environmental science major at the Castleton, Vt., college.
Christopher S. Berryment
Christopher S. Berryment of Dixfield graduated from the University of Maine School of Law with the degree of juris doctor on May 24. The ceremony was held at Merrill Auditorium in Portland.
Berryment is a 2005 graduate of Union College with the degree of bachelor’s of arts in economics and is a 2001 graduate of Dirigo High School. He plans to return to the Dixfield area to practice law. Berryment is the son of Scott and Lynda Berryment of Dixfield.

Christine H. Little, a resident of Auburn, has been named to the dean’s list at Boston University for the spring semester.

Jaclyn Lautz of Jay was named to the dean’s list at the Boston University College of Engineering for the spring semester.
Timothy Jon Cullen
Timothy Jon Cullen of Auburn, sophomore, and Raynor John Large of Auburn, junior, were named to the dean’s honors list for the spring semester at Gettysburg College, Gettysburg, Pa.
Students with a quality point average of 3.60 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) or a semester’s work are placed on the dean’s honor list.

Jason Skidgell of Litchfield graduated with a bachelor of architecture in architecture from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston on May 11.

Kyle Theriault of Auburn has been named to the dean’s list for the spring quarter at Rochester (N.Y.) Institute of Technology. A second-year student in RIT’s B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences, Theriault is studying computer science.
Son of David and Karen Theriault of Auburn, he is a 2006 graduate of Edward Little High School.
Kate-Lynn Thomas
Kate-Lynn Thomas of Lewiston was named to the dean’s list at Thomas College with a grade point average of 3.88 for the spring semester. To qualify, a student must have a grade point average of 3.2 or greater.
Thomas is a senior majoring in elementary education. She is a graduate of Lewiston High School and is the daughter of Kevin and Diane Thomas.
Nicholas Starbird
Nicholas Starbird of Auburn took part in the class of 2008 graduation at Maine Maritime Academy on May 3. Starbird is enrolled in the college’s five-year marine systems engineering program and is expected to graduate in 2009. He is a graduate of Eastgate Christian Academy, New Gloucester.
