Michael Perreault of Lewiston was awarded a bachelor of science degree at Bentley College in Waltham, Mass., on May 17. He graduated cum laude in the honors program.

Perreault majored in corporate finance and accounting and plans to work and remain active in the local community. His undergraduate activities included four years of service to Circle K, a youth leadership program of Kiwanis, Bentley Green Society, RHA, New England district governor senior year, New England lieutenant governor junior year, convention choir sophomore year, attending national conferences each year.

Perreault worked at Shaw’s Supermarkets during all four years in Belmont, Mass., and Auburn when on school vacation. He volunteered for Habitat for Humanity during spring break of his freshman, sophomore and junior years. The son of Daniel and Janet Perreault, he attended St. Dominic Regional High School.

Isha Mahamud

Isha Mahamud, daughter of Shukri and Said Mahamud of Lewiston, was named to the dean’s list at Smith College in Northampton, Mass., for her academic achievement for the 2007-08 school year. The dean’s list recognizes those students with grade point averages of 3.333 or above.

Mahamud graduated from Lewiston High School and is majoring in neuroscience at Smith.

Jessica Lynn Mayo

Jessica Lynn Mayo was named to the dean’s list in the College of Natural Sciences for the spring semester and recognized as a Presidential Scholar at the University of Maine in Orono.

The criteria for recognition includes earning a semester grade point average of over 3.5 and above as well as earning 3.0 cumulative grade point average for the last two semesters.

Mayo is a member of the Alpha Upsilon Chapter of Delta Zeta Women’s Sorority. She is a member of the Orono Student Nurses Association. Mayo is also a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

She is the daughter of Daniel and Tammy Mayo of Peru. She is majoring in the nursing program.

Amy Dieterich

Amy Dieterich, a former resident of Winthrop and Auburn, recently graduated from Columbia University School of Law. She was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar.

Dieterich is joining the law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton and Garrison as a litigation associate in New York City.

She graduated from Edward Little High School in 1998 and received her bachelor of arts in economics, cum laude, from Bryn Mawr College in 2002.

Before attending law school, Dieterich served in the Peace Corps in Morocco. She is the daughter of Kevin Dieterich of Winthrop and William and Janet Lee of Auburn. She is the granddaughter of John and Dolores Peto of New Jersey and Patrician Dieterich of Florida.

Adam Roberts Platz

Adam Roberts Platz of Auburn, a member of the class of 2008, graduated from Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H., receiving a bachelor of arts degree. Platz is the son of Thomas Platz and Paula Marcus-Platz. He majored in astronomy.

Chad R. Schrepper

Chad R. Schrepper of Turner graduated from Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, N.H., on May 17. Schrepper earned a degree in management. He was also named to the dean’s list for the spring semester by maintaining a term grade point average of at least 3.3 on a scale of four.

David Chesley

David Chesley, a 2004 graduate of Edward Little High School, has been named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Daniel Webster College, Nashua, N.H.

Chesley is majoring in flight aviation operations and air traffic control. He has his private pilot’s license with float plane and instrument ratings and is working on obtaining multi-engine, commercial and certified flight instructor endorsements.

Chesley is the son of Robert and Kimberly Chesley of Auburn and grandson of David and Nancy Youland of Turner and Rena Chesley of Port St. Lucie, Fla.

Brett Adell

Brett Adell of Greene received a bachelor of arts in psychology – health and counseling from Emmanuel College in Boston on May 10.

Matthew Bennett

Hartwick College senior Matthew Bennett of Auburn, son of Jeffrey and Larraine Bennett, is the recipient of Outstanding Accounting Tutor Award at Hartwick in Oneonta, N.Y.

The award is given to a graduating senior in business administration who has offered meritorious service in helping younger students conquer accounting and finance.

Bennett is majoring in history and accounting. He has participated in men’s varsity football, men’s varsity baseball, honors program, and Phi Alpha Theta. Bennett is a graduate of Edward Little High School.

Mount Ida College dean’s list

The following local students have been named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Mount Ida College, Newton, Mass.: Kimberly Caron of Auburn, Megan Dickey of Bowdoin, Crystal Glynn of Bowdoin and Brandon Powell of Turner. To make the dean’s list, students must have a grade point average of 3.33 or above.

Collette A. Mailhot

Collette A. Mailhot of Lewiston, a senior, was on the dean’s list for the spring semester at New England College, Henniker, N.H.
