The stormwater fee that appears on my tax bill is very unfair to all those who have to live in mobile home parks. Many who live in these parks do so because they cannot afford homes on their own plot of land. Many are elderly, disabled or low-income. We cannot afford this extra tax, which should not be ours to pay.

Those of us who live in the mobile home parks do not own the parks, so we should be exempt from the tax. The tax should be paid by the owners of the parks; they own the land and the sewer and water lines, not the people who live in the park.

People pay enough to live in the park. Enough is enough. We pay high lot rental fees, home insurance and property tax on our trailer homes; that is all we should have to pay for.

I urge the mayor and city officials to help those people who live in the trailer parks – make us exempt from this tax. The owners should be the ones to pay.
