GREENE – A 15-year-old Lewiston boy was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston after being hit by a truck while riding his bike here Sunday evening.
Deputy Timothy Kachnovich of the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office said the teen was hit by a pick-up truck driven by Wayne Bouchard, 47, of Benton, at approximately 7:16 p.m. The accident was under investigation Sunday night, but Kachnovich charged Bouchard with operating after suspension and said that alcohol was not believed to be a factor.
Kachnovich said that Bouchard was driving his 1993 Ford pickup south on Route 202 toward Lewiston when it hit the 15-year-old boy. The accident occurred at the intersection of Route 202 and Allen Pond Road in front of Landry’s Quick Stop.
The boy was thrown from his bike, according to Kachnovich. He said Bouchard’s truck struck the bike on the front passenger side. Besides deputies, Greene firefighters responded to the scene.
The boy’s name wasn’t being released by police.
