Incident Report Statistics

Between Monday, Aug. 11, and Saturday, Aug. 16, patrol officers responded to 81 complaints, which includes only criminal motor vehicle stops.

Criminal Mischief

On Aug. 12 at 8:14 p.m., a Maine Avenue resident called to report two vehicles vandalized. Victim reported that someone had shoved a potato up the exhaust of a vehicle and while it was being driven it popped, splitting the exhaust which was rusted. The other victim’s car still had the potatoes shoved in both the tail pipes of the vehicle with no visible damage.

On Aug. 13 at 4 p.m., a Maine Avenue resident reported parking her vehicle the previous night and sometime after midnight, unknown subject(s) ripped her windshield wipers off her vehicle. One wiper motor was damaged in the process.

On Aug. 15 at 2:11 p.m., a Maine Avenue resident reported someone had scratched offense language on her 1984 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. The estimated damage to the paint job is approximately $150.

On Aug. 16 at 5:45 a.m., an Urquhart Street resident reported a window was broken out of his 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee sometime between 11:30 p.m. Friday and 5:30 a.m. Saturday. Vehicle was parked on York Street and an unknown person smashed out the driver’s side window, doing approximately $200 damage.

Criminal Trespass

On Aug. 16 at 3:05 p.m., an East Andover Road, Rumford resident reported two males trespassing. Suspects were trespassing over a civil issue. Suspects warned for criminal trespass and advised to handle the issue properly through the courts.

Operating After Suspension

On Aug. 12 at 8:24 a.m., Joseph Tripp, 57, of Rumford was charged with operating after suspension after a motor vehicle stop for an expired inspection sticker.

On Aug. 13 at 9:15 p.m., Joshua Robichaud, 24, of Rumford was charged with failure to stop, operating after suspension, possession of marijuana and other motor vehicle violations. Officer attempted to stop the operator for motor vehicle violations when he fled on foot. Operator later turned himself in.

Possession of a Suspended License

On Aug. 13 at 9:10 p.m., Kris Blodgett, 20, of Rumford was charged with possession of a suspended license.

Sex Offenders

Each week the Rumford Police Department we will spotlight an individual living in Rumford who is a registered sex offender.

Joseph Downs, 30, of Rumford has a conviction for sexual abuse of minor. Statutory Description: Engage in a sexual act with another person, not the actor’s spouse, who is either 14 or 15 years of age and the actor is at least 5 years older than the other person.

Theft

On Aug. 15 at 2:49 p.m., a Lincoln Avenue resident reporting damage to rain meter and the theft of his weed whacker. Unknown cost of rain meter; weed whacker valued at $140.

Violation Conditions of Release

On Aug. 16 at 12:50 a.m., Jeremy Perry, 37, of Norway, was charged with violating conditions of release by being under the influence of alcohol, which was a condition of his release. He was transported to the Oxford County Jail.

Laura Tetmeyer, 45, of Rumford is wanted on a 2007 warrant for failure to appear on an assault.

Melinda Blodgett, 24, of Strong and Rumford is wanted on a 2008 warrant for failure to appear for disorderly conduct.

Jade Lennon, 48, of Rumford is wanted on a 2008 warrant for failure to appear for possession of scheduled drugs.

Jason W. Berube, 38, of Dixfield is wanted on a 2008 warrant for failure to appear for disorderly conduct.

Thomas Taylor, 47, of Rumford is wanted on a 2008 warrant for failure to pay fines on an OUI.

Jazzmine Colon, 18, of Mexico is wanted on a 2008 warrant for failure to appear on a theft and burglary of a motor vehicle.
