LEWISTON – During an awards ceremony at United Way of Androscoggin County’s annual meeting, Dan D’Auteuil Jr. and Doug Zimmerman were honored for their volunteer efforts and commitment to United Way and the Androscoggin community.
D’Auteuil, attorney at Isaacson and Raymond, PA, was presented the Jim Phillips Award, established in recognition of Phillips’ commitment, vision, strategic thinking and leadership.
The award is given annually to an individual who exemplifies United Way of Androscoggin County’s mission, vision and values. The selected recipient receives $500, which they contribute to a local charity.
Zimmerman of Greene received the Geneva Kirk Volunteer Award for assisting people in rural areas of Androscoggin County. Much of his work was made possible through the Rural Community Action Ministry of Leeds.
The Kirk Award is presented annually to an individual who serves as an exceptional volunteer by helping people and the community. The award is given in honor of Geneva Kirk, who dedicated her life to serving and teaching others, volunteering in a multitude of ways throughout Androscoggin County.
