WATERVILLE (AP) – An off-track betting facility in Waterville is being investigated by the Maine State Harness Racing Commission.
The commission has scheduled a hearing for next month to determine whether Autotote, a subsidiary of Scientific Games, violated its OTB license. The specific allegations against Autotote have not been disclosed. It is registered as an OTB at John Martin’s Manor.
Harness racing commission Chairman George McHale told MPBN that operators of the OTB are in discussions with the Maine attorney general’s office to avoid potential license penalties.
State government has several contracts with Scientific Games, which manages on-line lottery services for the state and monitors the daily take at the Hollywood Slots racino in Bangor.
