WINCHENDON, Mass. (AP) – Police are investigating the drowning of a 23-year-old man in Lake Monomonac on the Massachusetts-New Hampshire border.

Police say the man had been working at a lakeside home and decided to swim across a cove Friday afternoon when he went under.

The lake is on the border of Winchendon, Mass., and Rindge, N.H.

Winchendon Police have not released the man’s name as they work to notify his family.
