NEW SHARON – Bob and Gail Thompson of New Sharon have announced the engagement of their daughter, Barbie S. Thompson, to Rusty L. Brann, son of Audrey Shorty and stepson of Dean Shorty of Windsor and the late Stephen Brann of Coopers Mills.

Miss Thompson is a 1999 graduate of the University of Maine at Augusta and is currently employed as a certified dental assistant with Community Dental-Farmington.

Mr. Brann is a 2000 graduate of the University of Maine at Orono, where he received a bachelor’s degree in forestry. He is employed at Jones Associates, where he practices forestry and environmental consulting.

A Sept. 20 wedding is planned at Saddleback Mountain.
