Blais Flowers and Garden Center of Lewiston held its sixth annual free seedlings fundraiser recently, giving away plants. Blais encourages anyone who receives a plant or flower to donate 25 percent of its value to the shop’s charity of choice. Owner Michael Blais chose to donate the proceeds to St. Mary’s Health System’s With All Our Hearts Capital Campaign this year, with $1,215 raised. Employees of St. Mary’s donated $390. The campaign supports expansion and renovation of St. Mary’s Emergency Department, construction of a medical office building in Auburn and renovation of the Center for Transitional Rehab at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion. From left are Blais, Donna Steckino, chairwoman, Special Gifts Division for the campaign, and Diane Marquis Monaghan, executive director of St. Mary’s Foundation.
