POLAND – The Poland Players has scheduled auditions for the first show of the 2008-2009 season, the inspiring and thought-provoking musical “Jesus Christ, Superstar.”
While primarily conceived as a rock musical, the score features a variety of musical styles, including rock, folk, pop, gospel and vaudeville. The story line centers on the last weeks in the life of Jesus and Judas Iscariot as they move toward fulfilling their interconnected destinies.
Auditions will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 3-4, in the Dr. Robert Wall Theatre at Poland Regional High School, 1457 Maine St. Performance dates will be Nov. 5-8.
Anyone auditioning should be ready to sing a short song, read from the script and move. No experience is necessary. Musicians, tumblers, jugglers, dancers and actors are all encouraged to try out. For more information or to schedule a different audition time, contact D’Arcy Robinson at 998-5400, extension 218.
