CONCORD, N.H. (AP) -New Hampshire Gov. John Lynch says the Federal Emergency Management Agency has denied his request to include assistance to individuals in the major disaster declaration relating to the July 24 tornado.

Lynch says he’s disappointed, but that the state will continue to work with communities and volunteer organizations to help families.

Under the current declaration, communities in counties impacted by tornado are eligible to receive financial assistance to help cover the costs of responding to the emergency and repairing public structures.
