BURBANK, Calif. (AP) – A small plane overshot a runway and crashed into some power lines near Bob Hope Airport. Three people inside the aircraft were injured, authorities said.

The Cessna 172 single-engine plane landed upside down in powerlines near a residential neighorhood, its nose struck a car parked on the street below.

A woman standing outside her parked car near the crash site saw the plane coming down and ran, said Jorge Martinez, Burbank’s deputy fire marshal. “She fell and scraped up her knees,” Martinez said. She was treated at the scene.

Two men and a woman who were aboard the plane were hospitalized with moderate injuries, Martinez said. Their names have not been released.
