April Kleinkopf, 18, a senior at Edward Little High School, shows her University of Maine student card to her mother, Rhonda Pittman, during early student orientation at the University of Southern Maine’s Lewiston-Auburn College on Tuesday. Kleinkopf plans to attend the University of Maine in Orono after high school and major in pharmacy science. More than 40 students signed up Tuesday to take college classes while attending high school. Students can take one or two college classes per semester tuition-free, getting an early start on college credits and earning high school credits for the same classes.
