Quarterback Tom Brady is a Patriots team captain for the seventh straight season, and wide receiver Randy Moss gets the honor from his New England teammates for the first time.

On Friday, the team announced the 2008 captains selected this week.

Tackle Matt Light is the third offensive captain.

On defense, the captains are linebacker Tedy Bruschi, safety Rodney Harrison, linebacker Mike Vrabel and defensive lineman Vince Wilfork. It’s Bruschi’s seventh season as a Patriots captain and Wilfork’s first.

Linebacker Larry Izzo is special teams captain for the eighth season.

The Patriots open at home against Kansas City on Sunday.
