FARMINGTON – Judges on Thursday revised pre-trial release conditions for two of four men charged in connection with June burglaries and vandalism at 27 camps on Porter Lake in Strong and New Vineyard.
Justice Michaela Murphy revoked bail for Zachary Heath, 19, who faces 27 counts of burglary in the June 16 and 17 break-ins, because Farmington police arrested him Wednesday night on a charge of violation of bail. A police affidavit filed with the court states that Farmington police responded to a noise complaint at a Bridge Street apartment and saw Heath smoking marijuana. Police learned that a warrant was out for Heath’s arrest for a previous violation of bail conditions, according to the affidavit.
Heath denied violating bail conditions. He is being held without bail at the Franklin County jail in Farmington.
Justice Valerie Stanfill approved adding a curfew to the release conditions of co-defendant Dylan Couturier, 18, of Livermore Falls, had a curfew added to his release conditions. He faces 11 counts of burglary and has been charged with two additional violations of condition of release since then.
Assistant District Attorney Andrew Robinson said he withdrew a motion to revoke Couturier’s bail because the defendant agreed to add the curfew to the agreement.
“I would suggest the curfew start now, whatever it is, and I advise you to stay in at night,” Stanfill said.
Status conferences were held on both men and co-defendants Shane Sturgeon, 21, of Livermore, who remains in jail and faces 27 counts of burglary, and Timothy Lagasse, 18, of Farmington, who faces 16 counts of burglary.
All four cases will likely go before a Franklin County grand jury in November, Robinson told the court.
Three 17-year-old boys from Franklin County, who police say are also involved in the case, had not been charged as of Thursday.
