AUGUSTA (AP) – Maine will play host to the 32nd Conference of the New England Governors and Eastern Canadian Premiers next week.

The conference next Monday and Tuesday in Bar Harbor will focus on regional energy, transportation and economic development issues. Gov. John Baldacci and New Brunswick Premier Shawn Graham are co-chairs for the conference.

Baldacci says the meetings offer a unique opportunity to build on the combined strengths of the region.

The governor says all six New England governors and all five of the Eastern Canadian premiers are scheduled to participate. Also attending are United States Ambassador to Canada David Wilkins and Canadian Ambassador to the United States Michael Wilson.
