STANDISH (AP) – A 66-year-old Standish man is in custody after allegedly shooting his younger brother following a dispute over property rights.

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office says Kenneth Brooks shot 55-year-old Chester Brooks in the lower right leg Friday on Cape Road, where the brothers live next door to each other. Officials said the wound appeared minor.

Kenneth Brooks was found nearby and arrested without incident. He was charged with aggravated assault and reckless conduct with a firearm.
