BATH (AP) – Members of Local S6 have appealed a decision by the Machinists Union to keep a trustee in charge of the largest union at Bath Iron Works.

Last month, a union committee decided to keep the trustee in charge after concluding there’s sufficient evidence to support charges of shoddy accounting, widespread viewing of pornography on union computers, and failure to deal with grievances in a timely manner.

Any member of the union can appeal the decision.

The local union has been in turmoil ever since the allegations first surfaced last March. Three union officers including Local S6 President Mike Keenan remain suspended.
