LIMERICK – Multiple fire departments and state police responded to the scene of a fatal accident on Route 5 in Limerick at about 1:30 p.m. Saturday, police said.

A truck loaded with firewood fell on a man, crushing his skull, a state police dispatcher said. Investigating troopers did not release details of the accident or identify those involved on Saturday.

Route 5, also known as the Sokomis Trail, connects Cornish to North Waterboro through Limerick.
