LEWISTON – Police arrested an Oxford man early Sunday morning in connection with four separate incidents of slashed tires on Horton Street between Ash and Sabattus streets in Lewiston.
The arrest follows six other similar incidents last week, three of them on Horton Street.
Antonio R. Gendron, 20, of 85 Laurel St., Oxford, was charged with four counts of criminal mischief just after 3:30 a.m. Sunday at 50 Horton St. He was arrested by Lewiston officer Nathan Hood after a witness called police and reported that someone was walking up Horton Street puncturing tires on vehicles parked along the street.
Gendron was questioned about the earlier incidents of slashed tires, but there is no evidence linking him to those cases, which remain under investigation, Sgt. Marc Robitaille said.

Robitaille said Gendron was visiting relatives who live on Horton Street and was walking with two other people, who were not believed to be involved.
In addition to the seven cases on Horton Street, police in Lewiston investigated three other incidents of slashed car tires in the past week. Those included vandalism on College Street, Oak Street and Campus Avenue.
