DIXFIELD – Fire crews from several area towns were battling a blaze Thursday night at a cabin on Canton Point Road.

The fire was reported shortly before 10 p.m. and soon after, firefighters from at least three towns were at the scene.

There were no immediate reports of injuries. The fire was said to be burning behind the walls of a cabin at 842 Canton Point Road.

By 10 p.m. all available Dixfield fire crews were out, according to a dispatcher, and they were calling for help from Mexico and Canton.

It was not immediately clear if anyone was at home when the fire started. Canton Point Road runs parallel to Route 108 and turns into Route 17 on the western side.
