The mainstream national media seem dedicated to the success of Democrats. I have suspected the same of the Sun Journal. An example is the Sept. 13 “Political notebook,” which noted the Maine League of Conservation Voters’ ratings of only the Lewiston-Auburn Democrats, but did not mention the good ratings of the Republicans.
I had embarked on a project to measure the Sun Journal front page column-inch space related to each party during the national conventions, beginning with the Aug. 23 issue through Sept. 7. I measured the space used for headlines, banners, photos and written columns. The result surprised me: 161 column-inches for the Democrats and 170 column-inches for the Republicans.
That made this Republican feel a little better.
The seriously slanted television networks are a major problem because of the audience they reach. They have been accused of annointing Barack Hussein Obama to be the next president, even though he is not qualified for the job. They won’t use his middle name because it is Islamic, and radical Islamics are the terrorists.
Political correctness has run amok, as well as the Democratic Party, which ought to be able to come up with a better candidate than Obama.
Is he really the best Democrats could do?
