AUBURN – Five County Credit Union in Lewiston presented a $600 check and a box of supplies to Good Shepherd Food-Bank recently.

The donation was collected as part of the credit union’s End Hunger Project. Rick Small, Good Shepherd’s executive director, accepted the check and box of supplies from Terry Samson-Blais, Five County Credit Union branch manager.

Good Shepherd Food-Bank will turn the cash donation into more than 3,000 meals for families in the Lewiston area.

Small noted that the gift is especially appreciated as Good Shepherd and its partnering agencies prepare for a difficult period ahead for Maine families as food and fuel prices rise sharply.
