August baby sitting class a success
NORWAY – Stephens Memorial Hospital has announced the successful completion of the Safe Sitter class on Aug. 21, with seven participants: Lindsay Day, Jordan Schorr, Hunter Bortenheim, Arrabine Dunn, Tiffany Umsteadt, Mackenzie Kuvaja and Devon Willard.
Safe Sitter is a medically accurate program that teaches 11- to 15-year-olds how to be safe, nurturing babysitters. The goal is to reduce the number of avoidable and unintentional deaths among children being cared for by baby sitters.
The class teaches infant and child CPR, safety for the sitter, business practices and how to entertain children.
Call the Family Birthplace for information on the 2009 class dates at 743-1562, ext. 380. The fee is $50 for the two-day class.
