Navy Seaman Recruit Christopher C. Hill, brother of Jason R. Hill of Auburn, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

During the eight-week program, Hill completed a variety of training, which included classroom study and practical instruction on naval customs, first aid, firefighting, water safety and survival and shipboard and aircraft safety. An emphasis was also placed on physical fitness.

Hill is a 2008 graduate of Leavitt Area High School of Turner.

Army Spec. Brandon P. Marchesseault has arrived for duty at Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras, to serve as a member of Joint Task Force-Bravo (JTF-B).

The task force is comprised of almost 600 U.S. military members and more than 650 U.S. and Honduran civilians who work in six area units: the Joint Staff, the Army Forces, Air Force Forces, Joint Security Forces, the Medical Element and the 1st Battalion, 228th Aviation Regiment, a helicopter unit.

JTF-B units conduct military-to-military training, execute counter narco-trafficking operations, human trafficking deterrence and engagement in civil affairs activities in conjunction with U.S. interagency partners.

The specialist is a crew chief with six years of military service.

He is the son of James R. Marchesseault and grandson of Paul Marchesseault, both of Minot. Marchesseault is a 2002 graduate of Loring Area High School.
