CARMEL (AP) – Authorities say a pair of pit bulls that mauled a neighbor’s dog in Carmel after they escaped from their owner’s house have been euthanized.
The 7-year-old dog that was attacked was bleeding profusely and taken to a veterinarian after suffering 14 bites from the pit bulls on Saturday. The German shepherd was unable to walk on Monday.
The pit bulls, owned by Shannon Lee, apparently pushed an air conditioner out of a window in their owners’ home and attacked the other dog. Lee complied with a request of the local animal control officer and had the pit bulls euthanized Monday.
