PARIS – Three Rumford men pleaded guilty Wednesday to unrelated charges of selling or illegally acquiring painkilling prescription drugs.

Justice Andrew Horton heard the pleas in Oxford County Superior Court.

Roland R. Laliberty, 54, of 179 Andover Road, pleaded guilty to two counts of Class C acquiring drugs by deception. Three other counts of acquiring drugs by deception, as well as five misdemeanor counts of forgery, were dismissed.

Laliberty was indicted on the charges in April and accused of criminal activity between January and April 2007. Assistant Attorney General David Fisher said Laliberty added drugs to a valid prescription to acquire hydrocodone bitartrate.

Horton sentenced Laliberty to a fully suspended one-year prison sentence and one year of probation. He will also pay an $800 fine.

Thomas Michael O’Brien, 62, of 20 Congress St., pleaded guilty to Class C unlawful furnishing of Vicodin, a pain reliever also known as hydrocodone. O’Brien was indicted in April.

Horton sentenced O’Brien to a fully suspended year in prison and one year of probation. He will pay a $400 fine.

Ricky R. Warneke, 53, of 323 Cumberland St., pleaded guilty to an amended charge of aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs. According to an affidavit by Sgt. Daniel Garbarini of the Rumford Police Department, Warneke sold 30 Tramadol pills to a cooperating individual in May 2007.
