CONCORD, N.H. (AP) – A 50-year-old man had to be flown out of New Hampshire’s White Mountains after being injured while hiking.

Fish and Game said Christopher Paquette of Groveton suffered a disabling injury while hiking Wednesday on North Baldface Mountain in Chatham, north of Conway.

After he called for help on his cellphone, a National Guard helicopter brought two Fish and Game officers to Paquette’s aid. He was flown to Memorial Hospital in North Conway, where he was treated and released.

The Appalachian Mountain Club also helped in the rescue.
