LEWISTON – Grover State Farm Sr. Lions pulled off a hard-fought 12-6 victory over Lisbon St. Getty Mart Sr. Redskins on Sunday in Lewiston FLY Football competition.

Carter Remeika, Ace Curry, Matt Hidson and Daqjuan Adams led the Lions.

Joey Gonzalez and Brendan Duguay carried the ‘Skins offense behind the blocking of Chase Tapley, Zack Gosselin and Nelson Goyette. Gonzalez punched in Getty Mart’s lone TD from 2 yards out.

Defensively, William Adams, Gonzalez, Chad Hinkley and Duguay set the pace. Jason Goulet and Gosselin each contributed with a fumble recovery.

In other senior action, DRL Flooring Sr. Steelers knocked off Twins Variety Sr. Giants. Kyle Morin scored on a 64-yard run for the Steelers. Letavian Sands pitched in 42 yards on the ground along with a TD.

Curtis Kaplinger led the Steelers’ defense with nine tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery. Shane Baker also registered a key sack. Michael Treadwell and Austin Morin performed well in defeat for the G-Men.

Northeast Athletics Jr. Redskins upped their record to 3-1 with a 19-7 win over Don Morin’s Photo Jr. Lions. Jason Gonzalez was the workhorse for the ‘Skins, running in one TD and tossing another to Christian Fowler on a halfback option. Colby Desjardins punched in the final TD for Northeast.

Leading the defensive charge were Noah Francis, Nadine Jones and Keyshawn Green. Julian Raines and Darius Phillips topped the Lions offensively. Isaac Cote scored a TD. Josh Kobel notched a two-point conversion. Cote, Raines and Phillips were tough defensively.

B&R Flooring Jr. Steelers topped Grimmel’s Gas-Up Jr. Giants behind the efforts of Jacob McBride and Connor Kaplinger. Alec Morin and Alex Demers starred for the Giants.
