LISBON – The Town Council will hold a special meeting 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29, at the town office to review petitions calling for the recall of Town Council Chairwoman Norma Wells.

The petitions were submitted by the Lisbon Concerned Citizens Committee.

Town Clerk Twila Lycette issued a “certificate of sufficiency” on Friday to committee representative Todd Comber, validating 309 petition signatures, 21 more than the 288 needed.

The council will now be required to set the date for a recall election.

The committee first filed recall petitions about three weeks ago, but was short of signatures so more petitions were filed Monday.
