Sodality dinner
LEWISTON – Rosary Sodality will celebrate its 75th anniversary this year with a corporate communion at 8:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday, Oct. 5, at St. Patrick’s Church. Coffee and doughnuts for members and their family will be served after.
A 75th anniversary dinner will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, at Marco’s Restaurant.
Blood drive

Rebekahs elect
AUBURN – Liberty Rebekah Lodge 94 will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, for a potluck supper in the recreation room at the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs Home, 85 Caron Lane.
District Deputy President Debbie Smith, her marshal, Martha Shorette, and staff will install the officers during the business meeting, which will begin at 7 p.m.
Officers elected at the last meeting were Pamela Black, noble grand; Diane Treacy, vice grand; Cathy Hunnewell, secretary; and Arlene Simons, treasurer; Lucille Nelson, first trustee; Margaret Sjostrom, second trustee; and Donald Nason, third trustee. Annual reports will also be presented.
Thomas visit
WATERVILLE – A representative from Thomas College will visit the following schools on Tuesday, Oct. 7: Lisbon High School in Lisbon Falls, 10:30 a.m., and Leavitt Area High School in Turner, 1 p.m.
The representative will meet with students to discuss Thomas’ academic and sports programs, and its residential life opportunities.

Educators to meet
AUBURN – The Androscoggin Retired Educators will meet at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, at the Park Avenue Methodist Church for the annual scholarship auction. Those bringing items to auction off should have them at the church by 10:15 a.m.
A lunch of baked stuffed chicken, mashed potato, peas, carrots, cranberry sauce, rolls and homemade pies will be served. The price is $10. Send luncheon reservations to George and Pat Jacobs, 4 Sprague’s Mill Road, Greene, ME 04236 by Friday, Oct. 3.

Breastfeeding
AUBURN – Expectant women and breastfeeding mothers are invited to the La Leche League meeting at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, at 102 Bennett Ave. Babies are always welcome.
This month’s discussion, “Great Beginnings: Establishing and Maintaining Breastfeeding,” will focus on preparing to nurse baby at birth and adjusting to changing needs as a family.
All concerns about breastfeeding are welcome for discussion. For breastfeeding help or directions to the meeting, call the La Leche League leader at 782-6645.
Scout sampler
AUBURN – Girl Scouts of Maine will hold sampler meetings for girls in grades kindergarten to five, who are not already in a Girl Scout troop, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, Oct. 9 to Nov. 13, at Auburn Middle School.
The six-week program sampler will demonstrate how girls can benefit from the Girl Scout leadership experience. Girls must be accompanied by an adult.

Girl Scouts of Maine also has volunteer options for adults.

Bridge results
LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners of the quarterly club championship at the Multi-Purpose Center on Sept. 29 were as follows: first, Nancy Lindgren and Pete Cummings; second/first in B, Helen Little and Alberta Turner; second/third in B, Marlene and Conrad Violette.
