Absentee ballots for Twin Cities voters are available for November’s general election.
Voters may obtain a ballot by calling their city clerk’s office, visit the office or register for a form on the state’s absentee ballot Web site, www.maine.gov/cgi-bin/online/AbsenteeBallot/index.pl.
Completed ballots may be mailed to the city or returned in person before Nov. 4. The ballots are kept sealed in their envelopes until they are counted Election Day.
In Lewiston, the clerk’s office is on the second floor of City Hall. It’s open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The city has scheduled special Saturday hours on Oct. 25 and Nov. 1. The office will be open from 9 a.m. to noon both days. The office phone number is 513-3124.
In Auburn, the clerk’s office is on the main floor of Auburn Hall and may be reached by phone at 333-6600. That office is open from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays, and from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. The office will also be open from 9 a.m. to noon on Oct. 25 and Nov. 1, the two Saturdays before the election.
