LEWISTON – Emeral H. Stevens, 94, a resident of 5 Caron Ave., Auburn, died peacefully Friday, Oct. 3, at St. Marguerite d’Youville Pavilion with her family by her side.
She was born in Augusta, March 15, 1914, the daughter of Frank S. and Mabel (Lane) Howe.
She worked for many years in the local shoe industry until her retirement.
She was most proud of her children and grandchildren and loved spending time with them. The hobbies she loved most were reading, sewing and knitting.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Charles of Auburn; one daughter-in-law, Barbara Stevens Barton of Bradenton, Fla.; three grandchildren, Steven Charles of Auburn, a special granddaughter-in-law, Tammy Charles of Greene, Susan Charles and her friend, Chuck, of Portland, Eric Charles and his wife, Mindy, of Cape Elizabeth; three great-grandchildren, Abby, Owen and Eli Charles.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edward H. Stevens Sr.; one son, Edward H. Stevens Jr.; as well as three brothers; and two sisters.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Odd Fellows Home in Auburn and St. Marguerite d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston for their special care and attention given to our mother during her stay.
