LEWISTON – Jeannine P. St. Hilaire, 76, of Old Greene Road, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, at Central Maine Medical Center, with her family at her side.
She was born in Lewiston, on May 22, 1932, a daughter to the late Arthur and Cecile (Clavet) Lavallee. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church.
She will be lovingly remembered by many who called her “mom” and “grammie.” Her home was always open and a gathering place for friends and family alike. She had a great love for God and a faith that was unshakable.
She enjoyed playing cards with anyone who wanted to play and was known as the “all-time” Rummy champion. She cherished her whole family, especially her granddaughter, Trina, who lived with her since birth.
She is survived by four daughters, Linda Emond of Lewiston, Susan St. Pierre and husband, Don, of Sabattus, Debra Rogers of Lisbon and Karen St. Hilaire of Lewiston; a son, Michael St. Hilaire of San Diego, Calif.; a sister, Theresa Michaud of Auburn; seven grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew, Joey, Trina, Dawn, Carrie and Kayla; four great-grandchildren, Ethan, Grace, James and Alexis; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Claudette Forgues; a brother, Norman Lavallee; her first husband, Amedee Emond; and her second husband, Armand St. Hilaire.
The family would like to thank all the people who were involved in her care at St. Mary’s and Central Maine Medical Center – CCU for their concern and efforts and all who sent well wishes and prayers.
