OTISFIELD – The Otisfield Volunteer Firefighter’s Association will hold its fifth annual Harvest Dance from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at the Otisfield Community Hall. Music will be by the Suspects.
The dance is the major fundraiser and supports the association’s involvement in the community with events such as Bike Safety Day, Fire Prevention Week and the Otisfield Winter Carnival.
Funds also help support the fire department. This year the association will fund the outfitting and training of a rapid intervention team whose purpose will be to rescue trapped or injured firefighters, as well as the purchase of additional cold-water rescue gear.
Admission will be $10 a person at the door. Snacks will be provided by the association at no cost.
Those who cannot attend the dance but would like to support the association may make monetary donations. Make checks payable to the Otisfield Volunteer Firefighter’s Association, Spurr’s Corner Fire Station, 994 State Route 121, Otisfield, ME 04270.
