The Rev. Joseph Daniels sprinkles holy water on Charlotte and Charlie during the blessing of animals at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Lewiston on Saturday. The parakeets belong to the Turmel family of Lewiston. Daniels blessed about 50 domestic pets, including dogs, cats, birds and a bearded dragon named Charlie. The event, held during the Feast of St. Francis, was presented by the Prince of Peace Catholic Community.
