Dear Sun Spots: We are studying all the 50 states in “New World History.” We are collecting postcards from all 50 states. We have 25 states that have responded. We need 25 more, and your state is one that is missing on our map! Would you please send us one with a brief note about your state? Our address is: Sixth Grade History Class, Hamilton Christian Academy, 1415 Eighth St., Lake Charles, LA 70601. Thanks so much! – Logan Bodin, Louisiana.

Dear Sun Spots: I enjoy reading your informative column every day and now I have my own request: I am the recipient of a gift certificate to the Boiler Room Restaurant in Wilton. I have just found out that the restaurant has closed and would like to know if the owner has any plan to reimburse for unused gift certificates. Thanks for your help. – Marilyn, Jay.

Answer: According to newspaper articles, the Boiler Room restaurant closed in September and a new restaurant should be occupying the space soon. The former owner of the Boiler Room, Rick Mealey, did not return calls to Sun Spots. Hopefully our readers will have more information on the situation.

Dear Sun Spots: I just broke a sentimental figure made out of wood and wonder if someone out there could do the job for me? I’ve tried several times and need a pro! I read your column first every day. Call 782-1602. – No Name, No Town.

Dear Sun Spots: I would like to know if there is a place in Maine where they sell the heater called Eden-Pure that has been advertised in the Sun Journal and recommended by Paul Harvey.

Also, do you know of anybody in Lewiston – Auburn that has one. Thank you for your help. – Ray, Lewiston.

Answer: According to a representative for EdenPure, the closest retail store in the area is The Shelter Man, 231 Roosevelt Trail, Windham. We spoke with someone at the store who noted that they just started selling these heaters and haven’t yet received a shipment. They’d be happy to help though, and may be reached at 892-0112. The store is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. You could also order directly through the Affordable Heat, LLC company by calling the customer service department at 1-888-499-8656.

Dear Sun Spots: You are a wonderful connection for everyone, and you do a great service to the community. I am a grandmother, on disability, so I am on a limited income. I am now raising two grandchildren, due to a family situation I have had one for nine years and the other was brought to me by DHHS. I am in need of a gently used stroller (not an umbrella stroller), a small bureau, also gently used, a toddler bed, or twin, maybe even a small TV. I could pay a little, but not much. I have tried yard sales, but nothing worth buying. Any help would be appreciated. Phone number is 782-9882.

I also would like to know if any TV repairman makes house calls in the L/A area, and if you have any news on when the Marriott’s Hotel (by Wal-Mart) will be hiring. Thanks for any help you can give me. – Peggy, No Town.

Answer: In addition to responses from readers, contact Maurice’s Electronics at 784-2731 or Deny’s Service Center at 783-6869 for your television repair. Both are located in Lewiston and advertise in-home service.

Sun Spots has not found any information on when the Residence Inn (a Marriott franchise) will be hiring. Marriott does not provide information on the hotel at this time.
