SABATTUS (AP) – Officials are investigating a hunting accident that left a 10-year-old boy with non-life threatening gunshot wounds after his father accidentally discharged a shotgun.

The Maine Warden Service says the accident happened around 9 a.m. Wednesday when 52-year-old Claude Bolduc of Bowdoin and his son were duck hunting in a canoe on the Sabattus River.

The boy suffered pellet wounds to his calf and lower back and was treated at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.
