RUMFORD – Three police officers have been promoted.

Chief Stacy Carter said Tracey Higley is now a sergeant and Douglas Maifeld and Matthew Noyes are corporals.

Maifeld, who is in his 20th year with the department, and Higley, a Rumford patrolman since 1995, also serve as the department’s Drug Abuse Resistance Education officers through SAD 43.

Noyes, a former Dixfield patrolman, joined the Rumford force in 2005.
