AUBURN – A program titled Tapping Wind Power to Help Solve Maine’s Energy Crisis will be presented Thursday afternoon at the Auburn Public Library.
Pete Didisheim, advocacy director for the Natural Resources Council of Maine, will describe what Maine can do now through careful and ambitious development of wind power to reduce carbon emissions, increase energy independence and promote clean energy jobs.
He will review the status of wind power in Maine and discuss future opportunities and challenges. NRCM is the leading environmental organization in Maine working in support of wind power development.
Didisheim recently served as a member of Gov. John Baldacci’s Task Force on Wind Power Development. He previously worked as a special assistant to the U.S. Secretary of Energy; deputy chief of staff of the congressional Committee on Science, Space and Technology; and staff assistant for the Union of Concerned Scientists.
